Ticketek has rejected claims that it missed out on a contract to supply the Auckland Philharmonia with a ticketing platform because it was demanding too high a price.
Ticketek's general manager, Ben Unger, said cost had not been an issue and discussions with the Philharmonia had centred on an open-ended rental fee of $140 a month.
Auckland-based computer consultant SumWare Computing implemented a customer management and ticketing system, based on the database software FileMaker, for the Philharmonia for less than $12,000.
"We serve the Auckland Philharmonia in a number of ways, and are proud of our association and relationship with them," Mr Unger said. "This extends far beyond the provision of a bit of software for $12,000."
Ticketek's ticketing system, Softix, delivers more than 2.2 million tickets throughout New Zealand and sells certain Philharmonia tickets through its agencies.
