An Elton John and Coldplay fan is the third person to be fined for internet piracy.
The Copyright Tribunal has penalised a CallPlus customer who illegally shared almost 100 tracks and offered no explanation for the offences.
The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand suggested a fine of almost $4000 but the ruling will see the offender only pay around $800 for the crimes.
However, the order is marginally higher than the two previous orders of $616 and $557 dollars.
The RIANZ said it was happy to see a third person fined for internet piracy.
