KEY POINTS:
Real world experience can be hard to get in the dog-eat-dog digital domain - but two graduates have made their own solution.
Keen to apply their skills to quality projects, Pamela Minett and Adele Barlow set up a group called yMedia to 'create more effective relationships for students integrating real-world experience and industry links to media training institutions'.
It also turned into a win-win project for students and non-profit organisations.
Students and NPOs will come together at tomorrow 's UberSavvy conference in Auckland for the yMedia Challenge.
As well as hearing from a panel of industry experts, and doing some serious brainstorming, six groups of students will start formulating digital solutions for the organisations.
Over the next fortnight, the students will consolidate their ideas and prepare their presentations for judging.
There is over $20,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, thanks to sponsorship from the Tindall Foundation, Microsoft and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Saatchi & Saatchi will also offer the winning team a highly-prized placement in their digital creative department.
