KEY POINTS:
Telecom broadband customers will get a bandwidth bonus on both business and home plans.
And users who pay more than $49 per month in areas served with ADSL2+ technology will get caps removed for upload and download speeds.
The monthly allowance on four residential plans increases significantly, with the Pro plan swelling from 15GB to 40 for the same price.
Customers will automatically receive the data increase during October and speed changes will be applied over the coming months.
"We've made changes to our plans to reflect our customers' needs so they can do more of what they love online for the same price. Some of the changes also reflect the advancement in broadband technology and the roll out of ADSL2+," said Telecom's Broadband GM Ralph Brayham.
Telecom's ADSL2+ rollout is "well progressed" in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch and Dunedin and will continue in Timaru, Palmerston North Central and parts of Invercargill.
A Telecom website with an address checking tool has been set up to check ADSL2+ availability.
