Sony BMG Music Entertainment has temporarily suspended the manufacture of CDs incorporating anti-piracy technology.
The technology works only on Windows computers, preventing users from making copies or loading the CD's songs onto an Apple iPod digital music player.
Manufacture was stopped after hackers distributed malicious programs via the internet exploiting the ability of the anti-piracy technology to avoid detection.
