Software firms merge

Auckland firm Propella Software is taking over the support contracts and staff of Data Freight in a drive for company growth.

Propella specialises in business management tools, while Data Freight develops freight forwarding, customs brokerage and warehouse inventory management software.

Data Freight's five staff will join Propella's 10-strong workforce at the latter's Mairangi Bay office.

Propella is taking on support contracts, product development and marketing, but Data Freight will continue as a shell company holding the intellectual property rights.

Data Freight managing director Robert Wolff will become general manager of Propella.
