Pros: Made available last year in a 12-part download by instalment experiment, Siren Blood Curse is a Japanese-made survival horror that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story sees an American TV crew visiting the "vanished village" of Haruda, supposedly the site of human sacrifices. It's a well-written game, which is paced well enough to build suspense, rather than frantically fighting off zombie hordes from start to finish - the key to any good horror. Pivotal to the game is "sight jacking", an ability that allows you to look through the eyes of your enemies. This nifty trick becomes central to success as you carefully time sneaking past them undetected. The axe-wielding shibito (zombies) aren't always that easy to kill, so cunning is rewarded.
Cons: Camera movements can be difficult to get right, and with the right thumbstick also controlling your torchlight, it's easy to get disorientated.
Verdict: Horror fans need to play this one, which is worth a look for others even if it's just to try the sight-jacking feature.
