KEY POINTS:
PS3 (G)
Pros: Voted the top racing title at the E3 games conference this year, Pure is an addictive ATV racer at the top end of the adrenalin scale, requiring fast reactions and perfect trick timing. In the main World Tour mode, players start by building their ATV either to freestyle or race specs, choosing every part and customising colours and performance. Each of the 10 stages can be up to seven events long, combining races, sprints and freestyle fun. Points are awarded for tricks, which are gradually unlocked - landing basic tricks mean access to intermediate ones, followed by wild advanced moves. The graphically impressive, free-ranging environments are massive, with crazy terrain allowing for jumps that send your machine hundreds of feet in the air - but land wrong and it's all over. The further you advance, the faster the machines and the bigger the air.
Cons: Load times aren't exactly lightning fast, but installing the game directly on to the PS3's hard drive speeds things up markedly.
Verdict: Extreme four-wheeled sport with the biggest jumps ever seen in a racing game.
