Online sales increase

Internet company WebFarm and payment provider WorldPay say local merchants using their secure payment gateway have increased revenue 18 per cent in the second quarter of the year.

WebFarm general manager Richard Shearer says that puts New Zealand second only to Hong Kong in the Asia Pacific region for overall growth in e-tailers' revenue through Worldpay gateways.

The fastest-growing sectors in online sales are software and locally made artefacts, say the companies.
