From today nzherald.co.nz readers have yet another way of getting their news first.
Users of Mozilla's Firefox internet browser - an alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer - can download an 'add-on' to the software, called nzherald Live, to give readers the heads up as soon as new content is published.
The unobtrusive add-on appears as a blue 'nzh' logo on the Firefox browser's bottom right hand corner and loads headlines of the latest stories into a list of nzherald.co.nz sections that you choose. Once you've read an article, it disappears from the list.
And if there's a big news event, you'll be first to know as a Breaking News banner will appear at the top of any browser page you're looking at.
If you already use Firefox, getting the Herald add-on is a simple download using the 'Tools' menu, and then clicking add-ons and searching for nzherald. If you're ready to install it now, click here.
If you're currently using Internet Explorer but would like to try Firefox and the new nzherald.co.nz add-on, click here to download the browser and follow the simple instructions to install.
During the installation process, bookmarks and other information can be imported from Internet Explorer.
Mobile phone users keen to keep up with the news while on the go can use our mobile site at m.nzherald.co.nz.
