Auckland-based biotech company Protemix Corp has appointed an American academic to its board of directors.
The new director is Alan Cherrington, chairman of Vanderbilt University's department of molecular physiology and biophysics, and associate director of the university's diabetes research centre.
Protemix is a biopharmaceutical company operating from offices in Auckland and San Diego and research facilities at Auckland University.
It is developing novel therapies for cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus and other metabolic disorders, The Nashville Business Journal reported.
