PC Expo, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Centre in Manhattan and now in its 19th year, has been relabelled TechX NY. The personal computer that established the show in 1982 has been eclipsed by other devices. This year, some of the hottest items fit in a shirt pocket. But analysts are not expecting anything that might help to pull the computing market out of its doldrums. And some PC companies are staying away from the show.
