KEY POINTS:
A new system for mounting marine electronics in new boats or retrofitting electronics to older craft is now available in New Zealand.
The NavPod range is an external mounting system that offers an alternative to in-dash installation.
Suitable for both power and sail driven boats, the NavPod range comes with more than 200 housing and mounting bracket options and is designed to suit virtually every marine electronics configuration, including speaker systems.
Incorporating modern industrial design and a double seal for complete water tightness, NavPod housings come with top-quality stainless steel, tamper-proof fasteners. They are either uncut, or pre-cut to fit a range of electronics equipment from leading manufacturers.
NavPod's PowerPod range includes swivel base, overhead mount housings in a variety of sizes and stanchion mount housings, complete with stanchions.
The SailPod range is supplied in pedestal versions, rail mount models, companionway pods, mast pods, multiple display NavPods and a variety of instrument NavPods, both pre-cut or uncut.
A range of stainless steel angle guard mounts for use with NavPod housings is also available.
The range includes pre-cut housings to accept electronics from Raymarine, Furuno, Simrad, Garmin, Northstar, Lowrance, Si-Tex, Standard Horizon and Interphase. Uncut housings can also be cut to fit other brands of electronics and instruments.
