Internet travel company travel.co.nz is on track to achieve its aim of $50 million business in a year.
Managing director Greg Southcombe said that since opening in March, travel.co.nz had signed up companies expected to spend $4.4 million on travel, and in the leisure market it was "doing $100,000 of business a week."
Much of the business is coming from self-employed people, with 31 per cent of customers aged between 25 and 34, and 29 per cent between 35 and 49.
Men make up 60 per cent of customers.
The site is attracting 25,000 visitors a month.
Mr Southcombe said travel.co.nz provided lower prices by rebating three-quarters of its 3 per cent margin on domestic airfares and half of the 8 or 9 per cent margin on international travel.
Travel is an industry predicted to be affected more than most by the internet.
