KEY POINTS:
PS3
Pros: The latest Naruto offering is a solid step forward for the orange jumpsuit brigade - adding modes and RPG elements to the solid chop-sockey combos that made the franchise. One big addition to the combo-fest from the last iteration - using a simple system for throws, attacks, jumps and "secret techniques" - is a new summoning mode, which allows you to super-size Naruto and bust out seriously destructive moves. There's plenty to unlock and mini games - including shuriken hurling fun.
Cons: Ultimate Contest modes mixes old and new, but the story-driven adventure might annoy some of the earlier games' fans. The camera's lack of natural movement is annoying, and the environments are a bit bland.
Verdict: A nice update to a popular series, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 is worth dusting off the PS2 for.
