Microsoft XP on the way

PC makers may begin shipping Windows XP up to a month before the operating system's official October 25 launch-date.

Computer makers now plan to release PCs and notebooks containing XP late next month. One local PC manufacturer expects to receive copies in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, Microsoft's Explorer 6 internet browser is said to be near completion.
