Telecom New Zealand has selected Microsoft to supply the software for its desktop computers under a three-year Microsoft Enterprise Licensing agreement worth $12.5 million.
Under the agreement, Telecom New Zealand will deploy Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 throughout the organisation as their messaging and collaboration platform.
The agreement also covers the installation of Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Microsoft Office 2000 Professional on all the telecommunications company's desktop computers.
"With Exchange Server 2000, the organisation now has one of the most advanced IT messaging capabilities available, with video conferencing, instant messaging and unified messaging all available through one platform," said Paul Muckleston, Microsoft's Online and Solutions Marketing Group Manager.
