One of the country's oldest publications will move into the electronic age next year, with the New Zealand Medical Journal becoming web-based only.
The Medical Association decision to stop the hard copy publication for a fully electronic journal was influenced by cost-cutting measures.
Association chairman John Adams said almost $300,000 was spent this year to support the journal, first published in 1887.
The transition to the new electronic form will take place over the next seven months.
