It was a case of seller beware for Grant Stevens of Grace Computers, caught out last week by a bank draft scam. After receiving a $41,200 bank draft from Kuala Lumpur for five Toshiba laptops Mr Stevens sent off the goods. It was the third time he had dealt with the buyer, whose cheques had been fine. But this time, the bank draft was found to be fraudulently altered from its real value of $20, and was rejected. Mr Stevens shares this information as a warning to others. Malaysian police are investigating.
