KEY POINTS:
Loewe have repeated a call for anyone who bought television sets between 1999 and 2001 to return them because of a potential fire risk.
Loewe said that certain of their 100Hz CRT sets may have a weakness in soldered joints leading to overheating and in the worst case catch fire.
Owners should refrain from using the TVs and remove the plug from the wall socket.
The company said that any repairs would be carried out free of charge but alternatively owners would be offered a minimum trade in on their old CRT sets of $1000 for any new Loewe flat panel LCD or plasma TV 32 inches or larger.
