Take that! And that! A survey by British PC maker Novatech reveals that 25 per cent of PCs have been physically attacked by their owners - usually a slap to the casing when the machine crashes. Some thump the keyboard so hard it cracks.
Guys Gabbing. Men use their mobiles 35 per cent more than women, according to a survey for Cingular Wireless. Men speak on their mobiles for 372 minutes a month, compared with 275 minutes for women. This contrasts with home usage, where women are on the phone 52 per cent more than men - 510 minutes versus 334 a month.
Orbitz, the online travel agency owned by five large US airlines, was the fastest growing website last month. Visitors jumped nearly 400 per cent to 689,000, averaging 11 minutes online checking out fares. That's a lot of air miles.
Girls Are Doing it. Jupiter Media Metrix says women over 18 now comprise 40.9 per cent of all online users in the US, outnumbering men (39.8 per cent). The biggest shift over the past two years was among users over 35 - women increased from 18 per cent in May 1999 to 20 per cent, and men dropped from 20 per cent to 15 per cent.
