Manukau's library service is offering public internet access, with the launch of its Worldsearch system at all 11 branches throughout Manukau City.
Worldsearch provides free access to the library's bilingual Maori-English library catalogue; the EbscoHost online database containing articles from over 1200 magazines and journals; local community information; and several hundred educational websites.
Alternatively, library users can pay $2 per 15 minutes to gain unrestricted internet access.
Manukau Libraries said future initiatives could include library databases that would be accessible to residents from their computers at home, and online reference services.
