Kerre Woodham: I've lost the iPad rat race

Apple has announced it's bringing out a new version of its hugely popular iPad.

Geeks around the world are going ga-ga but I'm left feeling slightly panicky as I haven't yet unwrapped the iPad 2 I got for Christmas.

I've only had the jolly thing for three months and I'm already feeling obsolete.

I know everyone who has one loves them. And I know they're supposed to be simple to understand.

But I can't use all the functions on my phone let alone attempt to master the iPad.

Maybe I'd get more use out of it if I opted out of the technological rat race, kept it in its box and used it as a trivet.
