Judges consulted on internet plan

The Department for Courts has talked to the Judiciary about publishing court decisions on the internet.

The department is trying to put together a proposal for the publication on the internet of all decisions. Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias told the Newspaper Publishers Association in June that it would greatly enhance public and media access to the work of the courts.

A spokesman for the department said there had been preliminary discussions with the Judiciary about the concept.
