Intel is introducing three PC accessories that bring new consumer experiences to pictures, music and video.
The new products are the Pocket Digital PC Camera, the Personal Audio Player 3000 and the Play Digital Movie Creator.
Intel says the new products will give consumers more ways to enjoy images captured at and away from home, to customise the listening experience of music and spoken-word audio, and to communicate online with friends and family.
All three PC accessories work with the Windows XP operating system.
The Pocket Digital PC Camera is both a mega-pixel digital-still camera and a PC camera. It captures images and video that can be posted to a personal website or sent in e-mail messages. People can also use their home PC's connection to a colour printer to make photos for the family album. The PC camera acts as both a videophone for face-to-face calls and a "webcam" that can broadcast live events.
The Personal Audio Player 3000 is a portable device that comes with a clear faceplate. Consumers can personalise the player using pre-made inserts or they can create inserts featuring photos of their favourite rock star, athlete, friend or pet.
The Play Digital Movie Creator is digital video camera designed specifically for children. It lets children direct and star in their own feature movies by capturing up to four minutes of video and audio, or hundreds of snapshots, at or away from the PC. Once their original movie has been filmed, children can use the power of the home PC to enhance their film with titles, transitions, special effects and creative sounds. They can then premiere their movie on the PC and send it to friends and family over the internet.
