David has Office 2000. In Word 2000 the ruler tabs have disappeared. How can he recover them?
Simply by clicking on View/Ruler, David.
Heather is bugged by a "Download Macromedia Flash" message when she starts Internet Explorer. She wonders if, being a "senior citizen", she needs to install it.
To view some pages in their entirety, macromedia Flash is required, Heather, though it's not imperative. Unfortunately, the message will always pop up when you try to load your NZOOM start page unless you download it. You can change the Internet Explorer start page to a page that doesn't require it: Tools/Internet Options/General, change the "address" to your preferred start page.
For example, to make the NZ Herald your start page, type: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/webcontent/audio/ra/Pro.rams, select Outlook Express from the E-Mail drop-down, /Apply/Close.
Clara has Word 97 hassles. Each paragraph takes its own spot on the page, the first one gets the top, the second the bottom, then the third squeezes the second to the middle and so on.
These interesting little problems are designed to confuse us, Clara! Remove the Justified or Centred vertical alignment. To do this, follow these steps: On the File menu, click Page Setup/Layout.
In the "Vertical alignment" list, select Top in the "Apply to" list, select "Whole document". Click OK.
