Fiona asks: "What can I do when I am on the internet and the thing comes up on screen for me to log on again? It's really annoying."
There are two ways Fiona: You can disable Demand Dial - go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Internet Settings. Choose the Connection tab, then check the box Never dial connection. Click Apply, then OK. Or use your internet browser or e-mail package to auto-start the dialler. That way it will ask only once.

Roger wants to know what keys to use for the Euro sign - "the C with a double line through it."
It's a cinch Roger - the keys are Alt/Ctrl/E.

"I have Outlook Express, and when I have changed my password, I have checked Remember Password," says Sue. "This time, it won't remember the password. I have to type in this nonsense password each time I log on. Can I get my computer to indeed remember the password, please?"
When you switch on, Sue, make sure you log into Windows. That's the Windows Login screen that pops up just before Windows starts. Pressing Cancel will disable all saved passwords - a Windows safeguard to stop unauthorised access.

Backup Outlook Express continued: Chris tried an inbox suggestion and found a problem. "I was okay as far as Tools/Address Book but File/Export was grey."
No problem Chris. Outlook is sharing files with other programs. Close Outlook. Click Start/Run. Type "wab" without the quote marks in the Open box, then click OK. On the Tools menu in the Address Book, click Options, then click Do not share contact information among Microsoft Outlook and other applications, and then click OK. Close the address book. Now try the backup method - it should work fine.

Thanks Sally for a suggestion on a free alternative to the IMAP (internet message access protocol) problem we had last week - for those who want to screen e-mail.
"Pegasus allows pre-screening of mail headers (no need for IMAP). You can then download messages or delete them from the server without downloading them. It also allows you to choose send or receive independently and do both together."
