Q: "Microsoft ISDN Configuration Wizard" pops up when Peter starts his machine. The message says: "No configuration devices were found. Please install an ISDN device and run the Configuration Wizard again." This started after I installed a new Epson printer.
A: Some Epson printers enable start-up activation of the ISDN wizard in Win98 and WinME, Peter. Go to start/run and type in "msconfig". Once in the system configuration utility, go to the startup tab (the last one). Scroll down to a line that contains: CFGWIZ31 or CFGWIZ32. This is the ISDN Configuration Wizard. Uncheck that box, hit apply, then OK.
Q: From Gordon: My address book has disappeared from the bottom left of Outlook Express. To access my address book I have to go through the icon "addresses" on the menu at the top of the page. Can you tell me how I can get my address book back to the bottom left corner? Second, when I open Outlook Express 6 it goes to the main page as per normal but instead of a "CONNECT TO" window opening up so that I can access the internet, Outlook Express goes to "working online" and to access the internet I have to click on "send/receive"
A: Open Outlook Express/view/layout, place a tick beside contacts, Gordon. Now the second issue. Go to Outlook Express/tools/options/general, place a tick beside "send & receive messages at startup" then place a tick beside "check for new messages" and select 5 minutes.
Q: When starting up every day for the past week or two I have had this message: ERROR LOADING C:\PROGRA~1\WILDTA~1\APPS\CDA\CDAENG~1. DLL THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE PATH SPECIFIED. I downloaded Tangent a few weeks ago but after many problems I un-installed it, complains Carole.
A: Install and run "Hijack This" from: www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html and have it fix this entry: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\WILDTA~1\APPS\CDA\CDAENG~1. DLL, cdaEngineMain. That should fix your problem.
