Ever since Jude changed from Outlook Express to Outlook 2000, a "pesky little message" she tried to send last June has been stuck in her Outbox. Every time she starts the e-mail program, an error message says "MAPI spooler has already begun transmitting this message" - "For the life of me I can't get rid of it," she groans.
This is probably going to be a cinch. On the lefthand pane marked Folders, expand Local folders by clicking on the tiny plus sign. Now double click on Outbox and the troublesome message should be displayed. Now right click on the message and click Delete. Now exit from the program. When you next run Outlook Express the message should be gone.

Rae downloaded Winglobe as featured in Hotlinks two weeks ago, but can't run the program. "A reply box comes up telling me: 'Windows cannot find pkexec.exe: This program is needed for opening of files type Pkzip Archive."'
Most shareware programs are made available in a compressed form known as the zip format. This saves on disk space and cuts download times, but you'll need an "unzipper" program such as Pkzip or WinZip to uncompress these files before the program you have downloaded can be installed.

"Can you tell me how to fix the clock on my PC?" asks Louise. "It loses about half an hour over a month - there must be an easier way than resetting it all the time!"
PC clocks should be as accurate as quartz clocks. They may lose or gain a second or two over a month, but that's all. To turn the tables for a moment, this sounds exactly like a problem I have on my PC, which regularly loses exactly 30 minutes. At first I thought a virus was at work, but a scan proved negative. The problem has nearly driven me potty and has caused me to be late for at least one appointment. Are any other readers suffering from similar problems?
