Q: "Is there a complete list of keyboard shortcuts for Microsoft Word XP?" asks Sharon. "I've found it in the Word help system, but it's hard to follow. Is there somewhere on the internet where the full list is available on one page?"
A: Microsoft's support site, Microsoft, has lists for each flavour of Word, Sharon:
Word 2002 keyboard shortcuts, search for article 290938
Word 2000 keyboard shortcuts, search for article 211982
Word 97 keyboard shortcuts, search for article 157935
Q: XP Service Pack 2 CD delivery is quicker than expected. Peter opted to get the free disk from Microsoft (up to six weeks for delivery) and filled in the order form.
"My disk arrived 6 days later, from United Arab Emirates of all places. I have installed it, and it runs perfect. Offered it around as instructed by Microsoft, and made copies and sent them off too."
A: Microsoft realises the download size problem, Peter, and promoted distribution in ways not usually condoned.
On the subject of XPSP2, more on the reboot issue ASUS motherboards.
A few readers have had XPSP2 reboot problems, but it is the exception rather than the norm. It seems to be a conflict with a chip on some ASUS motherboards.
If you have an ASUS manufactured board (as the machine starts booting, the manufacturer is listed at the top of the screen), then you may be affected after installing SP2. Check: Asus Support for the latest updates for your board. Novices may be well advised to get their computer supplier to obtain and implement these updates.
In most cases SP2 has no problems. For those who find that the reboot problem appears and won't go away, rebooting into safe mode and removing the update should rectify this situation.
Q: "How can I put Hibernate as an option in the shutdown box?" asks John.
