KEY POINTS:
ICT-New Zealand Inc will close this week, in anticipation of the government's proposed new representative body.
Co-Chairmen for the organisation, Ross Peat and Chip Dawson, expressed that the founding group's biggest regret was closing before having had the opportunity to market ICT-New Zealand to the industry.
"We had not formally launched ICT-NZ, nor approached the industry as a whole to sign up as members," said a press release from the organisation.
"It was a challenging decision to close but, in supporting the establishment of the proposed new body, we did not want to compete with it for funding or membership.
"We believe the two years spent by ICT-NZ in developing the business proposition for an industry body, and the related web and membership systems, has been very valuable and we trust that the new ICT Industry organisation will benefit from these initiatives."
