KEY POINTS:
Communications Minister David Cunliffe has announced the appointment of two people to head new organisations that will help develop the ICT digital sector.
Doug Martin will head an ICT representative body that will be an advocate for development and Tony van Horik will deal with the roll-out of community-based broadband network initiatives
Mr Cunliffe said Mr Martin, a director of the consultancy firm MartinJenkins, was an experienced and respected advisor.
Mr van Horik, managing director of Advanced Technology Solutions, had 30 years experience with the industry and tertiary education institutions.
