Fisher & Paykel is offering its American dealers the option of ordering appliances direct from New Zealand using the OrderWare "DealerNet" portal software from Auckland company Genie Systems.
The software is being hosted by Unisys's new ASP (application service provider) division.
Fisher & Paykel Appliances global marketing services manager Ian Cooper said OrderWare allows the company to automate responses to information requests from dealers, which may involve invoices, credits, part descriptions, prices, volumes and availability.
"The automation frees up our sales staff who no longer deal with these time consuming requests, and the company achieves major operational efficiencies as a result," he said.
He said the product also integrates into any e-Marketplace, which is critical in the United States as dealers are consolidated into buying groups.
Genie Systems Australasian general manager Nigel Varcoe said the Fisher & Paykel implementation shows OrderWare can operate highly complex ebusiness distribution systems throughout the world.
