KEY POINTS:
We've seen Capcom's horror-action Resident Evil 4 before on PS2 and PC (or even GameCube) but the Wii experience is something else.
Count this one as the ultimate version and probably the most fun.
It's a good test of how the Wii-mote and Nunchuck copes with a complex game.
And once you adapt to the controls, ie. your jaundice disappears - it's the way to go.
Even if, like me, you've played this game through before and loved it, it still manages a shock now and then, especially as you are so in control of the movement with the remotes.
If you haven't played it, now's the time to try it out.
You're playing as a secret agent named Leon Kennedy who is in charge of recovering the president's daughter Ashley who got kidnapped. Leon hunts to a
Spanish village which is just creepy and the enemies are crazed and dangerous with their pitch-forks.
The Wii version doesn't add anything new but the way of playing it makes up for that - and it's a great game.
The zombie types scare you silly as you play in the dark of night. The story is long, the action fun with a good array of purchasable weapons and the audio is
spooky, perfect for the Friday 13th just past. In the Wii version there is the speaker on the remote and that was a freaky moan!
So how do you get on with the remotes? You move your character around using the nunchuck's directional stick but aim with the point of the remote. Holding down the B button puts your character in a target stance so weapons aim accurately.
Use both the remote and nunchuck and you can accurately shoot or
knife-kill your enemy target. Does take some getting used to to be proficient.
Get the picture of how you use the remotes for it by watching this.
Remember the game is R18.
You'll be surprised how accurate it can be but that doesn't make the game any easier!
Visuals may be a little old school but this is a game that's been on the shelves since January 2005. You do get this in widescreen but hi-def this doesn't look so
great even though it is smooth.
MadGamer rating for Resident Evil 4: 8.0
