A New Zealand website providing useful information on four-wheel-drives and sports utility vehicles has gone online.

"It's for people interested in news of new or near-new four-wheel-drives and ways they can enjoy them," says Phil Hanson, who devised and edits the site. 

The site went online with more than 150 pages of information, covering all manufacturers that are selling four-wheel-drives and SUVs in New Zealand.

It also reports on products and accessories, places to go, and features reports to help people make the right buying choices and add to their understanding and enjoyment of their four-wheel-drive.

The independent, editorially led site offers for sale detailed test reports on a range of current four-wheel-drives.

But for those wanting a quick opinion, there's a candid one-paragraph summation of more than 50 new or recent models in the Just the Verdict section.

Other sections of 4wdnewz.com de-mystify and explain four-wheel-drive terms, jargon and technical matters.

"The site is both comprehensive and current," says Hanson, "so we're continually expanding and updating ... several times a day if necessary."
