The Government will this afternoon announce a multi-million dollar high-tech investment in New Zealand.
IRN political staff say telecommunications giant Ericsson will establish an Internet centre creating hundreds of jobs.
The centre will be headquartered in Wellington with offices in other parts of the country.
Products for the mobile Internet will be further developed in this country and sold around the world.
Ericsson is one of the top 10 telecommunications companies in the world and already employs almost 300 people in New Zealand.
It is at the cutting edge of developing the mobile Internet, being twice the size of its nearest competitor.
