Dominion Breweries has won the right to use its initials in an internet domain name.
The company announced today that the High Court had awarded it the domain name 'db.co.nz', plus substantial costs.
The case arose after a New Zealander, now based in the UK registered the domain name 'DB' in 1996, then tried to sell it to the company for $25,000.
However, DB Breweries objected and issued legal proceedings when the individual refused to hand over the name.
