Two heads are better than one and the same principle appears to apply to computers as scientists plan to link 128 of them together to analyse DNA.
Massey University computer scientists are about to build a $250,000 network to link 128 computers and make a cheaper equivalent of a supercomputer.
A genuine supercomputer would cost about $1 million.
The Allen Wilson Centre for Molecular Ecology and Development, based at Massey using researchers from several universities, intends to use the network to advance DNA study.
