The US Justice Department has sued Computer Associates International for $US1.3 million ($3.2 million), alleging the company and its 1999 merger partner, Platinum Technology International, illegally fixed prices by restricting price discounts offered by Platinum before regulators approved their deal.
Computer Associates, dismissed the allegations of "gun-jumping" and said it would fight the charges "vigorously".
