The New Zealand IT industry is offering to foot the bill for a small-to-medium sized business keen on working smarter through technology.
IT industry group NZICT is offering to match business technology investment of up to $10,000 in value in a competition closing at the end of next month.
The package could include a range of IT solutions including cloud services, software-as-a-service, virtualisation or hardware.
NZICT deputy chairman and chief executive of Kinetics Group, Andrew Hunt, said the group was looking for a small business wanting to do clever things with technology.
He said most businesses relied heavily on technology but often did not recognise its value and seemed to resent IT expenditure.
"We want to turn that around so they recognise that as an investment and help them understand how it adds value to their business," said Hunt.
