Company first to offer high-speed net via electricity cables

Germany's top power supplier RWE and Swiss partner Ascom will offer the first commercial technology for high-speed internet access via electricity cables from July.

RWE PowerNet promises to provide high-speed transmission of data, speech and video and constant web connections more cheaply than rival phone and TV-cable systems.
