Apple Computer has confirmed Christchurch will be the home of its second Ultralab IT and education research facility.
The first Ultralab is a joint venture between Britain's Anglia Polytechnic University and Apple Computer.
It was set up in 1994. Paul Johnston, general manager for Apple's New Zealand distributor Renaissance, said Apple looked at several countries in the Asia-Pacific region before choosing Christchurch as the location for the lab.
