Cellphone calls in the air might be a no-no but vessels at sea apparently have no such sensitivity.
Telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson has signed a deal with Norwegian company Maritime Communications Partner (MCP) for the delivery of a GSM network to ferry and cruise ship operators.
Ship-board calls will be routed via satellite to an MCP network on land and connected to the public phone network.
