KEY POINTS:
Telecom chairman Wayne Boyd used the annual meeting to apologise for the major disruption suffered by tens of thousands of Xtra customers when the company launched the Yahoo!Xtra service.
"We are acutely aware that some customers have experienced some significant email outages following the launch of Yahoo!Xtra," said Mr Boyd.
Shareholders were critical of how the company managed the implementation of its Yahoo!Xtra Bubble service in August. One told the meeting his wife had left an angry voicemail message on Mr Boyd's mobile phone out of frustration.
Mr Boyd said the company "just didn't get it right".
"It shouldn't have happened and we're embarrassed by it and we do apologise to our customers for that."
