A Stratford High School netball team participated in the Lower North Island's Secondary Schools Tournament.
The five-day tournament was held in New Plymouth and some great netball was played. The Stratford High School team was made up of students from the school's A, B and 4A teams. By the end of the week the team had six wins out of nine games and was 13th out of 28 teams. Students Olivia Slater and Brooke Millar played their last game of netball for the School. Netball co-ordinator Denise Kay was awarded a Service Award during the tournament's prizegiving from the Lower North Island Tournament administration recognising the 15 years she has taken a team to the tournament. Denise says being awarded the medal by team captain Olivia Slater made the moment special.
