FLYERS swimmers Dylan Arlidge, Ryan Cooper and Julian Weir have been selected to attend a 2010 Regional Age Group Development camp to be held in Palmerston North April 30 to May 2.
Thirty swimmers, 15 male and 15 female, in birth dates 1996/97, from the Central area -Wellington,Wanganui, Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu and Taranaki are selected on points gained at Age Group National and other top meets they compete in.
These three boys' achievements include the Victoria State Champs held in Melbourne January 2010 where they competed with great results.
The points are a possible 4000. Julian Weir is ranked second nationally with 3528 points. Ryan Cooper is fourth with 3430 points and Dylan Arlidge with 3033points is 17th. All are ranked in the top 10 regionally.
Six swimmers from Taranaki have been selected and the three others to join the three boys are Steven Mead, Inglewood, Nahm Northcott, Bell Block and Anne-Marie O'Donell, NP Aquatics.
The camp is seen as a pathway to develop swimmers towards selection for the National Age Group Tri Series and Trans Tasman teams.
Only a dedication to hard work in the pool over the last year will get these results and the rewards are deserved.
