Following in his older brother's footsteps, Jack Jordan is making a name for himself internationally after winning the 375mm Underhand World Title at the Sydney Royal Easter Woodchopping Show.
This is Jack's third world title and says that this was by far his hardest challenge yet, as he describes it "Sydney is the Wimbledon of woodchopping, not many people people bring home a title from that show". Jack adds that he also broke the record by being the youngest competitor to take home the title at only 18 years old.
Jack says he was encouraged to give the sport a go after watching his older brother, world title holder Shane Jordan. "He started when he was in highschool, and when I was about 11 I thought I would give it a go too. I have been woodchopping ever since."
Jack says it is a great sport to be involved in, "by competing at national and international levels you get to meet so many people and make friends all over the world". He adds that it is hard work training for competitions. Requiring him to be out woodchopping several times a week as well as going to the gym.
This isn't Jack's first time bringing home a title, he received the World Title in 16 inch Underhand at a Christchurch show and the David Bolstad Memorial World Title in Rotorua for all Open Events.
