The CMK Stratford Senior As hosted Spotswood for the first game of the second round.
Spotswood came out firing scoring early and shooting out to a 17-0 lead. Stratford fought back with a well worked try to new centre Orisi Belau. The half time score was 17-5.
Stratford came out a lot more positive in the second half scoring some well worked tries. Paul Hausia powered himself over the line, Donald Maka benefited from a powerful scrum to score a push over try and Issac Meo hit a nice hole to bring Stratford within 2 points.
Unfortunately, being unable to exit their own territory after scoring points came back to hurt Stratford and Spotswood scored their 5th try on full time. With the conversion missing, Stratford picked up two bonus points to start the second round. Players to stand out were Donald Maka, Daniel Furness and Hooker Todd Curtis. Next week we are away to New Plymouth against NPOB.
