HAVING been an owner/operator working in Inglewood's rural retail and services market for nearly five years, Nathan Hitchcock of Moa Milking Systems thinks he has a pretty good handle on what his local clients want.
Nathan's always had a good understanding of farming life in Inglewood, having come from the area and started his working life with Eric Young Farm Services more than a few years ago.
Using his early Inglewood experience, he had a stint in the UK working in farm plant and shed design before returning to his home area and setting-up shop himself in Cutfield Street.
"Throughout my whole working life, I've stuck with Waikato Milking Systems," says Nathan.
"I find them durable and reliable, and because they're designed and manufactured in New Zealand, engineered to our country's unique farming conditions.
"Local people can call up the actual manufacturers and get any follow-up support they might need."
Most people are fully aware that Moa Milking provides and services Waikato Milking System plant and components, but fewer people know that Moa Milking actually design and build full rotary milking sheds from the ground up; uniquely, the only Waikato Milking System dealer in construction in the entire country.
"Obviously, there are private builders around the country who design with Waikato systems in mind, and Waikato has a network of service providers around the country; but, we put it all in place from the start. Over the last few years we've put in about 25 rotary platforms, so we know what we're doing."
