While the TET Kings Theatre has had some exciting movies showing over the school holidays, many people haven't noticed the attraction the cinema is in itself.
Theatre manager Barry Milner has made an effort to turn the foyer into a museum or art gallery filled with a variety of cinema-themed memorabilia and items of interest. "When people visit the cinema I want it to be an experience for them," Barry says.
One such item of interest is the copper sculpture, The Cat of the Kings, crafted by Wayne Lobb of Stratford. Barry says the sculpture was donated to the theatre after being designed specifically for it.
"Wayne got in contact and asked if I would like him to make it for me, I couldn't turn it down." Barry says he has always been impressed by Wayne's work and is proud to have it displayed in the theatre. "I only wish there was more room to display more of his sculptures".
Barry says he has always wanted to make a display on the theatre stage with creative lighting "to really show off Wayne's work".
